On May 28, 2025, during the BlueMissionMed Community-Building Webinar Series focused on Monitoring, Detecting, and Collecting Pollution, Scidrones’ Coastal Marine Litter Observatory (CMLO) was voted the #1 solution by participants and stakeholders.
The webinar, organized by the EU-funded BlueMissionMed project, brought together leading innovators across Europe working to tackle marine and water pollution in the Mediterranean. CMLO was presented during the pitching session alongside six other cutting-edge technologies, including solutions for river cleaning, offshore cleanup, and pollution detection systems.
After the pitches, participants were invited to vote on:

Which solution they would like to follow up with, and

Which solution is most promising for preventing and eliminating pollution in oceans, seas, and inland waters.
CMLO earned the highest number of votes in both categories.
What is CMLO?
CMLO is an AI-powered platform developed by Scidrones, designed to detect, map, and monitor marine litter in coastal zones using drone technology and machine learning. The system provides high-resolution data visualizations and real-time analytics to empower local authorities, environmental agencies, and civil society in their efforts to combat marine litter.
With this recognition from BlueMissionMed, CMLO is now positioned as a key solution to scale across the Mediterranean and support the goals of the EU Mission “Restore Our Oceans and Waters by 2030.”
What’s next?
Following this milestone, Scidrones aims to deepen collaboration with stakeholders across the Mediterranean basin, helping implement CMLO in real-world settings and contributing to systemic change in marine pollution management.
