On May 21st, 2025, Scidrones participated in the University of the Aegean’s Career Days 2025, presenting its pioneering work in environmental monitoring through drone technology. Representing the team, Argyris Moustakas shared insights into the company’s journey, from its founding to its latest achievements in innovation and sustainability.
Founded in 2022 as the first official spin-off of the University of the Aegean, Scidrones has quickly gained recognition for its advanced drone-based solutions for detecting marine litter and coastal pollution. The company was recently awarded 1st prize at the Start4Health 2024 competition, and also received a Venture Impact Award for its positive impact on the Greek innovation ecosystem.
During the presentation, Argyris highlighted the importance of connecting research with real-world challenges, encouraging students to pursue entrepreneurial paths that leverage academic knowledge to tackle global environmental issues.
Participating in Career Days 2025 is yet another step in Scidrones’ mission to bridge academia and industry, while continuing to innovate at the intersection of technology and environmental protection.
